Have You Tried the Derma Roller?

Robin, a CI reader, recently saw a giveaway for a derma roller at FutureDerm.com and wrote to your trusty cellulite analyst to ask about the product.

Only problem is, I never heard of it before. Have you?

Time to send another Request for Information into the Internet yonder.

The derma roller is a nifty little tool used to treat acne scars, stretch marks, wrinkles, and of course, cellulite using a process called micro-needling. The roller is equipped with 192 needles that are said to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. It’s sorta like a combination between dry brushing and acupuncture.

Here is a video of The Doctors discussing the derma roller with guest, Brooke Burke:

Robin offered to test out the derma roller for our investigation, so stay tuned for her intel report in a few weeks. In the meantime, please leave a comment or send me an email if you have any experience with the derma roller. Thank you!

I'd be curious to see what you think of this. I've been a fan of dry-brushing and massage, so in theory it seems like it should work?

Can't wait to hear! I've been interested in this device for a while…would love to know if it hurts to use it on the face (under eye wrinkles). Thanks!

Charlene –that's my thinking, too.

SCB –That should be easy enough to find out. I'll ask Robin to include that in her intelligence report. Isn't she awesome for reviewing this product for us?!

Oooo That sounds kinda nice! I love skin brushing, but I have a field of stretch marks, on my cellulite, and this would be sweet if it worked!

Just received an email update from Robin. Her derma roller arrived this weekend and she's already had a chance to check it out. To answer SBC's question above, it does seem like there is a pain factor. I'll give you the details in a separate post by the end of the week.

I may have also seen this on a segment of Rachel Ray.

You're right, Sheila. It was on Rachel Ray, too.

I commented in another post, but just in case: I am currently using the dermaroller and also trying to decide whether it’s any good. In my blog I keep taking pictures of my stretch marks, some pigmentation spots and a scar I have to later decide if it has worked. My blog is at http://homedermaroller.blogspot.com

I’m curious to see how your self-test works out. Great investigative work! Thanks for contributing to the case on cellulite!
