This week, your diligent cellulite analyst is writing from the majestic blue mountains of North Carolina. It’s the perfect setting to reflect on the progress of the investigation thus far and set out resolutions for the new year.

It’s only been a few months since CI first launched, but we’ve already gathered valuable intelligence about the potential causes of cellulite, uncovered several effective treatment options, and even discovered a bona fide guru. Not a bad start.

But now that we have a feel for our subject, it’s time to take this investigation to the next level. We need a solid strategy if we’re going to crack this case in 2010! I’ve been mulling over some ideas which I will bring up throughout the week. The first is to be more methodical about reading the relevant literature on cellulite.

Once you’ve read a few cellulite books, they start to blend together in a blur of backside close-ups and eighties leotards. It’s easy to dismiss them, but I’m often surprised by the useful information I pick up in these books, even the ones with big hair on the cover. A careful reading of the popular cellulite books would provide a solid base for our investigation.

Next month, I am launching a weekly column to discuss our Cellulite Book Of The Month, known from here on out as the “Cellulite BOTM.” I’ll announce the book in advance so you have time to pick it up at your local library or order it from Amazon (you can often buy used books for under a dollar). Or if you prefer, you can just send in your questions and rely on your trusty cellulite analyst to do all the heavy reading. Whatever works for you.

Our first selection is Bottoms Up! From Cellulite to Sexy in 24 Workout Hours by Joyce L. Vedral, Ph.D. Joyce was instrumental in making weight training a regular part of women’s fitness.  She made a name for herself in the early 1990′s with her first appearance on Sally Jesse Raphael.  Bottoms Up! was a New York Times Bestseller.  Every review of the book on Amazon is 4 stars or more, save for one reader who thought the exercises were too complicated to follow. You can buy the book for $4 on Amazon, including shipping.

What do you think of the Cellulite BOTM idea? Are there any books you would like to discuss as a Cellulite BOTM? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
